Pathologic 3: Quarantine is a prologue for the upcoming third instalment of Pathologic, a narrative-driven horror adventure where a brilliant young doctor is forced to free from the Capital.
In Pathologic 3: Quarantine you follow the story of Daniil Dankovsky, a brilliant young doctor whose controversial research into immortality forces him to flee the Capital. The story unfolds in a remote steppe town gripped by a mysterious plague outbreak. As Dankovsky, players must examine patients, diagnose illnesses, and uncover hidden truths that lurk beneath the surface of this seemingly ordinary settlement.
The game’s non-linear storytelling approach allows players to experience events through multiple perspectives, questioning the reliability of Dankovsky’s own narrative. Players can issue decrees based on their investigations and face a terrifying personification of the Plague itself.
It’s quite narrative heavy and can be a little hard to get into initially, but it looks fantastic, has an interesting story and the new doctoring mechanics are excellent. A very promising adventure about mortality, truth, and the price of scientific ambition.
