Patron is a survival city builder with a focus on social dynamics, where managing social tensions is just as important as managing resources as you attempt to turn your small town into a thriving city.
In Patron you’ll be able to collect resources, construct useful buildings and research tech upgrades as in most city building games, but the politics of running your city will be just as important. It’s one thing to make a big city, but it’s another thing to make its citizens happy and prosperous.
Each of your citizens has their own unique needs, desires and issues that motivate them. Some may get worked up over tax, some may be strongly religious and some may have a strong stance on immigration. You’ll need to try and keep each social group happy(ish) while avoiding pissing off the other ones and still keeping your city running smoothly.
It’s an interesting concept that looks set to dive deep into the real challenges of running a city. Keeping things running smoothly and the populace happy is a pretty tricky balancing act that many great (and not so great) leaders have tried and failed at.
