Promise Mascot Agency is a delightfully strange open world narrative adventure where a Yakuza legend runs a mascot agency in a cursed Japanese town.
Currently in development by the team behind Paradise Killer, in Promise Mascot Agency you are a Yakuza legend who has been sent to a cursed Japanese town after a job went bad. You now need to take over a failing mascot agency and earn enough money to save your family before the town’s curse claims you.
The mascots in Promise Mascot Agency aren’t people in costumes, instead they are cute(ish) little monsters which you recruit and send on jobs. If they get in trouble on a job you can help them out in card-based battles against ridiculous things (such as a small door) where you use hero cards that you collect from certain people you meet.
Along for the ride (literally) all through this is your loyal helper Pinky – a giant pinky toe mascot with a mischievous streak. Pinky rides along with you in the back of your little van as you explore the town, discover secrets, chat to locals and complete quests.
The Promise Mascot Agency demo gives you a limited time to play through it (over an hour) and features a large amount of content. It’s a lot of fun exploring the town and meeting all the strange characters. Particular highlights being the mascots, all of which are a delight (especially Pinky) and the scrapes they get into while on their jobs are hilariously ridiculous. Highly recommended.
