Pulling No Punches is a lighthearted 2D pixel art beat ’em up where a gang of disgruntled ladies set out to clear the streets of virus spreaders.
Previously featured on Alpha Beta Gamer a year ago, Pulling No Punches is an old school Final Fight style side-scrolling beat ’em up that tackles a modern day problem. It takes place an the streets of Brazil where a Coronavirus style viral infection is running rampant. Most considerate people are wearing masks, however there is still a substantial amount of anti-maskers who are roaming the streets and spreading disease. They clearly won’t listen to reason, so it’s up to you and your pals to beat them up and send them packing.
Pulling No Punches plays much like classic Final Fight style beat ’em ups, but with high quality pixel art animation, perks and unlockable moves. The demo build features one large level, 4 playable characters and co-op with up to 4 players.
With the pandemic on its way out, Pulling No Punches may have missed its ideal window but it’s still a lot of fun. The classic beat ’em up gameplay is solid, the pixel art animation is excellent and it’s got a fun sense of humor. See if you can (literally) beat the pandemic!
