PWND is a fast paced arena shooter that celebrates the 1980’s culture of excess with OTT rocket based warfare and a points system that rewards you for further humiliating a dying opponent!
PWND is set in a dystopian future where the excesses of the 1980’s are still revered and have had a continued influence on society. This and the fact that the invention of LAZER-US resurrection pods has pretty much made people immortal has resulted in the rise of one of the most extreme spectator sports ever to grace the planet – rocket arena combat. However, as the resurrection pods have made death no longer as permanent or as entertaining, “pwning’ has been introduced to up the spectacle – the act of humiliating a dying opponent to score points.
What this essentially means is that once you’ve fragged an opponent you need to perform a close range victory dance over their dying body to score points. However, during the time you’re dancing you’re completely vulnerable to attacks, so your team has to watch your back or you’ll end up being on the wrong end of a pwning.
The combat in PWND is fast paced and fun, with three dimensional rocket jumping, plenty of rocket-based fragging and a diverse selection of characters with unique abilities. It features a variety of game modes that encourage tactical teamwork, especially with players covering each others backs while dancing over the corpses of fragged opponents – a team that pwns together, wins together!
