Rogue Blight features an interesting fusion of soulslike combat and rogue-lite progression as you battle your way through a blight-infected world.
In Rogue Blight you select routes to travel through a procedurally generated world and each place you visit on your journey will either be a loot/shop event or a battle against one or a few enemies. It’s got a 2D visual style accompanied by a soulslike combat system, complete with stamina, dodging, shields and spells.
Players can craft their unique fighting style by mixing and matching one-handed weapons, including swords, daggers, wands, and shields. With over 20 weapons available in the demo alone, each featuring distinct skills, the combat possibilities are extensive. The game’s depth is further enhanced by various status effects and blessings that modify character builds.
The demo introduces players to Waywood Forest, the first of three planned maps, where they can level up to 25 and unlock permanent upgrades. It’s an easily accessible take on the soulslike genre that has some great monster designs and an addictive gameplay loop. Time to test your might in Rogue Blight!
