Ruffy and the Riverside – Beta Demo

Ruffy and the Riverside is a wholesome open world puzzle platforming adventure where you can copy and paste textures onto different surfaces, with interesting results.

In Ruffy and the Riverside you are a cute little Ewok looking bear guy called Ruffy, who is trying to stop a mischievous villain from destroying the World Core. The game has a Mario 64-esque structure, with a large open hub world and different levels that you can access from it. There’s lots to discover in the hub world and the levels, including collectibles that give you access to new areas (like Mario 64’s Stars)/

Ruffy has a particularly unique ability that allows him to copy the texture of one object onto another. This isn’t just a visual change – the physical properties of the objects change too. So you can turn a waterfall into climbable vines, a river into molten lava or a stone ruin into a floating wooden platform. There’s a huge amount of textures you can swap and it’s worth experimenting for fun results.

The Ruffy and the Riverside demo features a sizeable chunk of gameplay and really impresses with its charming visuals, secret-filled open world and creative puzzle design that makes inventive use of Ruffy’s copy/paste abilities. A delightful texture-swapping adventure packed full of creativity. Highly recommended.
