SANABI is a stylish 2D pixel art action platforming adventure where a legendary soldier (and angry dad) with a massive prosthetic grappling hook arm sets out on a mission of vengeance.
Previously featured on Alpha Beta Gamer a year ago (when it was called SANNABI: The Revenant), SANABI is a narrative-driven action platformer set in a futuristic city that’s ruled by a corrupt corporation. In the game you take on the role of a legendary soldier who had retired to enjoy a peaceful life with his daughter. However, following an incident that is no longer possible, and he sets out on one last mission to hunt down the mysterious entity known as SANABI, and exact bloody vengeance on them (and anyone who gets in his way).
Your character in SANABI is a real badass, garnering equal amounts of respect from colleagues and terror from anyone dumb enough to piss him off. His most useful piece of equipment is a large prosthetic arm, which can be used as a grappling hook and a weapon. It adds a lot of mobility and speed as you swing and dash through the levels (and it looks really cool too).
It’s a fun game with beautiful pixel art visuals and a nice blend of precision platforming and combat. Particularly impressive is that it’s actually got a great story and characters that you really care about. The Beta starts on January the 18th and will feature the whole of the first chapter (including the boss fight) and part of chapter 2. Please note that you can sign up for the Beta now, but you’ll just get an error if you’re trying to install it before the 18th.
