Scarlet Deer Inn is a beautifully animated narrative-driven cinematic platforming advertise where the character sprites are made from embroidery.
Drawing inspiration from Slavic folklore and the works of Studio Ghibli, Scarlet Deer Inn is a cinematic platforming adventure where a mother of two finds herself locked in a dark dungeon. The demo features an extended town-based section where you can talk to residents and complete chores, then you (accidentally) enter a dungeon where the platforming begins.
The town area feels a little too long and meandering at the moment and the platforming is fun (particularly towards the end), but it would probably benefit from breaking it up a little by meeting an NPC. Other than that though, it’s a very promising game with an interesting story, fur characters and an excellent embroidery art style.
