Scarlet Lake is an isometric old school survival horror game where a detective is sent to investigate a small town where the inhabitants have been displaying suspicious behaviour.
In Scarlet Lake you follow the story of a detective called Ben Murphy, who finds himself investigating a small town where strange creatures are taking over the bodies of the inhabitants. You’ll need to explore the town, solve puzzles, scavenge resources, fend off the monsters and get to the bottom of what’s going on.
At the moment the combat feels pretty slow, robotic and ineffective (especially in confined spaces). Aside from that though, it’s an entertaining slice of classic survival horror, with a cool low poly isometric visual style and a great small town setting. If you’re looking for some old school survival horror it’s certainly worth dipping your toe into Scarlet Lake.
