ScienceVR is an innovative educational VR experience that allows you to step into the workshops of famous scientists throughout history and work alongside them as you learn the various scientific principles they discovered.
Coming to Oculus Rift or HTC Vive, in ScienceVR you’ll be able to step into the workshops of famous pioneers of science and learn their discoveries first hand. The workshops will be fully interactable, with you able to grab objects and use them in experiments under the tutelage of the scientists by your side. There are currently four labs planned – learning to program the first computer with Ada Lovelace and Charles Babbage, logic based riddles with Lewis Carroll, exploring electromagnetism with Michael Faraday and James Clerk Maxwell, and visualizing math and physics equations with Michael Faraday, Carl Friedrich Gauss, André-Marie Ampère, and James Clerk Maxwell.
It’s a very promising endeavour that looks set to make learning science, technology, engineering and mathematics fun. Being able to carry out experiments yourself in VR and being able to meet the people who first performed them is a much more compelling than learning experience than working from a textbook in a classroom – it may even manage to make learning Physics equations fun!
