Sebastian Frank: The Vienna Prologue is a delightful point-and-click adventure game that acts a precursor to the upcoming game Sebastian Frank: The Beer Hall Putsch.
You play as the young, up-and-coming artist Sebastian Frank as he tries to make a name for himself in the glitzy and glamorous world of 1900s Vienna. Unfortunately, the competition for admission to the prestigious Vienna Academy of Fine Arts is fierce and the other prospective students will do anything to gain an advantage, including sabotaging Sebastian’s entrance exam.
Sebastian Frank does not stray far from the genre rules laid down by classics likes Kings Quest and Monkey Island. Its puzzles are convoluted but charming, its artwork is highly stylized, and the characters are certainly all unique if awkwardly voice-acted. You’ll find a few interesting glitches and localization errors in this build but nothing entirely game breaking. For those who enjoy the tangled logic typical of point-and-click games, Sebastian Frank: The Vienna Prologue makes for a pleasant stroll down memory lane.
Note: You can speak with the other people in the scene. Make sure you exhaust all the dialogue options before you give up!
