Silt is a beautiful and atmospheric Limbo-esque physics-based puzzle-adventure where you have the ability to possess underwater creatures as you awaken an ancient entity in a sub-sea abyss.
Drawing inspiration from Limbo, Inside, Little Nightmares and the tales of Beatrix Potter, Silt is a sub-sea puzzle adventure where you can possess sea creatures to help you solve environmental puzzles. The game features stunning artwork from Tom Mead (aka Mr. Mead) and sees you searching the depths for huge deep-sea monsters, whose power you need to awaken a mysterious force at the center of the abyss.
The demo build of Silt takes around 20 minutes to play through and is a visually stunning experience from start to finish. Your diver isn’t particularly strong so will die quite easily (much like in Limbo), but their ability to possess other creatures really comes in handy. It’s a simple, but effective mechanic that allows you to use the creatures’ unique abilities to your advantage – whether it’s just the fact that they’re small enough to squeeze through a crevice or that they can charge at obstacles to smash them.
It’s an incredible experience, filled with breathtaking deep sea wonders, cleverly crafted puzzles and plenty of horrible ways to die. It’s shaping up to be a very special game – a delightfully dark treasure lurking in the deep. Highly recommended.
