Spies & Soldiers is a fast paced RISK-esqe low fantasy head-to-head turn-based strategy game where you use military strength and subterfuge to build your empire and crush your opponent.
Taking place on a procedurally generated watercolor world maps, Spies & Soldiers sees two players facing off in fast paced turn-based strategic battles. Players must attempt to use their forces to conquer the world map and there are two primary systems of doing this – military strength and subterfuge.
Conquering an area using military strength is fairly straightforward – if you invade an area and you have the more powerful army in that area then you win the battle. Subterfuge is a little more complex and involves you using spies who work in the shadows. They can only be seen by the enemy if they have a spy in the area of a superior rank and they can be ordered to carry out activities like assassinations or sabotaging castle defenses.
It’s an interesting take on the strategy genre that should scratch the same itch as RISK, but with a healthy dose of subterfuge and paranoia as you never know quite what underhanded activities your opponent is up to. Sign up now to sneak into the Beta.
