Steep: Road to the Olympics is an officially licensed Olympic Winter Games expansion for Steep that allows players to go for Gold in a variety of Skiing and Snowboarding events.
The Steep base game is not required to play the Steep: Road to the Olympics Open Beta (it’s a standalone product), but when the full expansion releases the base game will be required. It offers a nice taste of what to expect from the full product, transferring Steep’s fun free roaming gameplay to more competitive Olympics based events. The Open Beta features Downhill and Big Air events in Korea, along with Freestyle, Freeride and Wingsuit Challenges in Japan, while the full game will feature Big Air, Downhill, Giant Slalom, Parallel Giant Slalom, Ski and Snowboard Halfpipe, Ski and Snowboard Cross, Ski and Snowboard Slopestyle, Slalom and Super-G.
It’s a fun game that builds on the solid gameplay of Steep and uses the official Winter Olympics license to make it feel like much more of an event. Playing the Open Beta unlocks in game rewards for the full version and there’s even a competition that will see the those with the fastest time in the Downhill event having a chance to win a trip to the 2018 Olympic Winter Games. The Beta is available to download and play right now via the PSN, Xbox and UPlay stores and will finish on December the 4th. See you on the slopes!
