Switchblade is a slick new vehicular combat game from a team of developers that were behind Blur, Project Gotham Racing and Geometry Wars, that sees teams of heavily armed Sci-Fi vehicles doing battle in spectacular 5v5 MOBA-inspired battles.
We first featured Switchblade on Alpha Beta Gamer back in June when it was still such a top secret project that the devs hadn’t even released the name. It’s being created by Lucid Dreams, a team of developers formed by senior developers of the now defunct Bizarre Creations studio that was closed down after the release of the fun, but not commercially successful Blur. Switchblade sees the devs return to fast paced vehicular combat, but with the inclusion of MOBA elements as teams of five do battle in futuristic arenas and attempt to escort explosive rolling bombs towards their opponents towers to blow them up.
In Switchblade you can switch between different types of vehicles at any time during the match, allowing you to switch up your tactics on-the-fly. Winning battles will earn you loot that can be used to customise your vehicles. If you fancy just sitting back and watching the action unfold, you can also join in the interactive spectator mode that allows spectators to influence in-game action. So whether you fancy jumping behind the wheel or watching on as futuristic vehicles blow the crap out of each other, sign up for the Beta now!
