Symphonia is a beautifully animated non-violent musical platforming adventure where you use your violin to gather an orchestra that will bring the world back to life.
Previously featured on Alpha Beta Gamer when it was a student project, Symphonia is a platformer that takes place in a world where music is a source of energy. The once thriving world is now dormant after the founders and their orchestra disappeared. You need to go out in search of them to bring music and life back to the world.
You take on the role of a mysterious violinist who has been brought back to life by a mask. Your violin can be used to create music which will activate mechanisms, but it can also be used to help propel you through the air and latch onto platforms. You can also just play it whenever you want to create a little music for your own enjoyment.
The demo is a little on the sort side and feels a little like an elongated tutorial, but the gameplay, audio design and visuals are all superb. The character is responsive and when you get a good flow going on you feel like you’re part of the symphony in its vibrant musical world. Highly recommended.
