The Child’s Sight is a creepy Five Nights at Freddy’s style jump scare horror game where you relive traumatic old memories and have to carry out specific tasks to keep the monsters from attacking you.
The levels in The Child’s Sight are split into two stages. The first of which sees you wandering around a creepy old attic collecting notes which relay fragments of the narrative to you. The second half of the levels then switch to a Five Nights at Freddy’s style gameplay style with lots of jump scare horror and you carrying out tasks to keep the monsters at bay.
The FNaF style sections see you reverting to your childhood, where you are sat in your crib trying to get to sleep. You need to close your eyes for a set amount of time to fall asleep and reach the next level, but you also have to keep an eye out for the monsters. In the first level you only have to worry about doing three things (turn off the lights, turn on the lights and turn on a carousel), but as you progress things get tougher, with more actions to carry out and more chance of you getting caught out.
The Child’s Sight is clearly aimed at fans of the Five Nights at Freddy’s series so it won’t be for everyone, but if you like a bit of jump scare horror then there’s a lot to like about it. The visuals are excellent, it’s a bit more accessible than FNaF, the narrative is intriguing and the jump scares are genuinely scary. A nice slice of jump scare horror worth setting your sights on.
