The terrifying Five Nights at Freddy’s inspired horror game, The Joy of Creation, is getting a fully fleshed out Unreal Engine 5 powered remake as a game developer confronts the monsters he has created.
The original The Joy of Creation was a FNaF inspired horror game that puts you in the shoes of Scott Cawthorn (the original creator of Five Nights at Freddy’s) as he’s confronted by his animatronic creations in his real life. The remake features a similar story, but upgrades the gameplay and the visuals significantly.
The Joy of Creation’s demo takes place in Scott Cawthorn’s office and sees you attempting to survive for twelve hours as four different animatronics assault you. You need to manage fuses/battery power for the individual cameras, the flashlight and the main power while fending off the different animatronics in different ways.
Newcomers may take a little while to figure out the game mechanics and the different ways of dealing with the monsters, but once you get the hang of it then it’s a riveting experience. You’re constantly on edge as you try to manage power levels while also dispatching the animatronics. The visual upgrade is also fantastic and the animatronics are as terrifying as ever. Highly recommended.
Animatronic guide:
Freddy – Flash him 12 times to win the game
Foxy – Aim the camera at Foxy’s eyes (do NOT flash)
Bonnie – Ignore, no not flash & do not point camera directly at
Chica – Look for cupcakes in drawers & flash them
