the machine that BREATHES is a dark Sci-Fi survival horror adventure where an AI mind implanted in a cyborg body struggles to survive in a post-apocalyptic underground city.
Currently in development by Shweep Games (creator of Nemoral), the machine that BREATHES is a top-down Sci-Fi survival horror adventure inspired by Resident Evil and System Shock. In the game you take on the role of an AI that was tasked with running a mining vessel which burrowed deep into the earth and transmitted seismic readings to the surface. However, you lost contact with the surface many years ago and you eventually ran out of power and shut down. You’ve now been awakened again in a mysterious city to find that someone has uploaded your AI to a wiped human mind. Time to search around for some answers…
the machine that BREATHES manages to do an awful lot within the constraints of the RPG Maker game engine it’s built in. It has everything you’d want from a good old fashioned survival horror game (puzzles, exploration, action, inventory management, ammo conservation and combat), and it also has a very unique art style and an intriguing story. It’s a very promising survival horror adventure that looks set to deliver a cerebral hard Sci-Fi experience.
