The Nameless City is an eerie and atmospheric retro styled first person horror game based on the Lovecraft story of the same name, where an explorer discovers an ancient city that’s older than legend and not built by human hands.
Drawing inspiration from The H.P. Lovecraft short story (which is considered to be the first one of his set within the Cthulhu mythos), The Nameless City follows a nameless explorer as they enter a mysterious ancient city in the Arabian Desert. It’s said to be older than humanity itself, and certainly seems to have been built by a species that was physically very different. As you explore you discover long forgotten secrets and descend into madness.
The current build of The Nameless City takes around 15 minutes to play through and is a captivating experience. The FOV could do with being increased a bit, but other than that it’s an excellent game. The architecture of the ruins feels very alien and ancient, and the sound design and voice over are excellent. You get the feeling that you’re trespassing in a place that was never meant to be seen with human eyes. Highly recommended.
