The Undying Beast is a surreal atmospheric PS1 styled first person horror game set within an eerie void between life and death.
Created for the Haunted PS1 Wretched Weekend game jam, The Undying Beast is an unsettling little horror adventure set in a foggy void filled with death. After a flash of light and the sound of sirens you now find yourself in a freaky Limbo-esque afterlife. It’s a pretty unpleasant place to be, with ominous sounds, dead trees and glimpses of monstrous creatures in the surrounding fog.
The void is a place where souls cling to life and are unable to accept their death, with the only signs of life being seven daffodils that are hidden around the void (which you can collect to get the second ending). There are also computer monitors scattered around the place that tell you more of the void and those that are trapped there.
Taking around 10 minutes to play through, it’s a fascinating experience exploring the foggy expanses of The Undying Beast. It’s got an interesting lore and a very eerie atmosphere, with a great soundscape and the glimpses of the other inhabitants that you get in the fog are very unnerving. See what you discover in this foggy Limbo.
