Beta sign ups are now live for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, Ubisoft’s follow up to 2017’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands.
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is an open world military shooter playable in single-player or with up to three other players in co-op. It’s set somewhere in a fictional cluster of islands called the Aurora Archipelago in the South Pacific, with a wide variety of biomes, from snowy peaks and vast fjords to swamps and lava fields.
You and your team will be able to pilot a wide variety of land, air and sea vehicles as you explore the archipelago, complete missions and take part in PvP matches. The single-player/coop campaign centers around you hunting down a former brother-in-arms (a familiar face for fans of The Punisher TV series) who turned traitor and shot down your recon chopper while you were on a mission.
As well as a change of setting, Ghost Recon: Breakpoint introduces a variety of new gameplay elements, including a realistic injury system, diverse terrain to deal with, the ability to carry injured comrades to safety, advanced enemy Ai and adaptive cover. You’ll also be able to customize every aspect of your character – appearance, skills and thousands of gear and upgradeable weapon combinations.
Ghost Recon: Wildlands had a pretty rough launch back in 2017, but since then Ubisoft continued to update and refine it until it was a very competent open world shooter. Ghost Recon: Breakpoint and is shaping up very nicely. Sign up for the Beta for a chance to be one of the first to set foot on the Aurora Archipelago.
