TurretCraft is a great looking multiplayer tower defense game in which teams of players face off against each other from opposite sides of the battlefield and place their turrets to create deadly mazes for enemy units to walk through.
In TurretCraft players compete in 1v1, 2v2 or 3v3 multiplayer tower defense matches in which they build turrets and send mercenaries to attack their opponents base. This means that you have to balance your attack and your defense, neglect one (especially the defense) and you’ll soon see yourself wiped out by the enemy. There are 40 different turrets to choose from and 39 different mercenary units to purchase (including 12 boss mercenaries), so there’s plenty strategic depth to the game, especially when you take into account the way the towers are placed.
While a lot of tower defense games prefer to opt for pre-defined enemy routes and specific areas you can build your towers on TurretCraft opts for the much more tactical Desktop Tower Defense ‘mazing’ style of gameplay. This means that you can place your towers anywhere on the battlefield, blocking the enemy’s path and creating a winding maze-like route that they must take you your base.
TurretCraft impresses with its multiplayer focused gameplay, strategic attack/defence balancing and the mazing-style turret placement mechanics that made Desktop Tower Defense so thoroughly addictive. Well worth checking out for some tactical tower defence with a healthy dose of offence.
