UNBEATABLE is a very slick anime styled rhythm action adventure where you beat up monsters in a world where music is illegal.
In UNBEATABLE you follow the story of a young woman called Beat, who lives in a world where music has been outlawed (for reasons that you find out throughout the game). Beat is a musician who aims to bring music back to the world, but soon finds herself on the wrong side of the law and a mysterious new enemy.
The gameplay in the full hame of UNBEATABLE will be split into two different parts – exploration and combat. In the exploration sections you’ll be able to explore a 3D world, chat to NPCs, make friends (and enemies), practice with your band and progress the story. In the combat sections you’ll then beat up hordes of cute looking monsters along to the music.
The current demo focuses on UNBEATABLE‘s rhythm action gameplay and sees you timing button presses to attack enemies as they attack from different directions. It only has one area to do battle in, but it has multiple songs to fight along to. You only need two buttons during these sections but the gameplay manages to feel surprisingly varied and the music syncs up to the action very well.
It’s a very promising game with vibrant anime styled visuals, an interesting game world and a fantastic flow to the rhythm action combat. It’s hard to beat beating up to these cool beats!
