Underworld Dreams: The False King is a Lovecraftian first person survival horror adventure that draws inspiration from The King in Yellow as you explore a mysterious ancient crypt in search of your brother.
The first part of a planned anthology of games inspired by Lovecraft’s Cthulhu mythos, Underworld Dreams: The False King is a survival horror game based on Robert W Chambers’ The King in Yellow. Taking place in 1980’s, the game sees you searching for your brother in the ruins of a mysterious old church that harbors some dark secrets. As you explore you’ll fight cultists and Eldritch monsters, solve puzzles and unravel the dark Lovecraftian mysteries lurking below the church.
The current demo build of Underworld Dreams: The False King takes around twenty minutes to play through and features a nice selection of puzzles, exploration and combat. It’s got an interesting graphic novel-esque graphical style, the setting is great and (judging by what’s in the demo) the full game will have plenty of freaky tentacle monsters to deal with. Well worth checking out for a bit of Lovecraftian horror.
