VCMS: Vigilante Combat and Movement System is a very promising prototype for a fast, fluid and kinetic physics-based FPS.
More of an interactive tech demo than a game, VCMS: Vigilante Combat and Movement System features the framework for what could be a fantastic first person shooter. The current build features one sandbox hub where you can experiment with your movement and weapons, and three short levels where you can test your combat skills.
The movement and the combat in VCMS are very impressive. You’re able to run, vault and slide, allowing for fast, fluid movement through levels and the guns are great fun to shoot, causing lots of blood splatter and dismemberment of your enemies. A particularly nice touch is that you can kick large objects at enemies, incapacitating them and triggering a cool slow motion effect in the process.
It may just be a tech demo, but it’s very clear through playing the three short levels that come with it that it could be an excellent first person shooter. Fast, fluid and fun FPS tech demo with a lot of potential.
