Vecter is an eye-melting synthwave wireframe racer where you race to be Top Dog on tracks that change every 24 hours.
Previously featured on Alpha Beta Gamer in September when it was a prototype, Vecter is a super fast synthwave racer where you hurtle down a vast hazard-filled neon freeway and attempt to rack up as much points as possible before your inevitable demise. If you manage to climb to the top of the leaderboard for that day’s track then you’ll be crowned Top Dog until someone knocks you from the top spot, and if you’re Top Dog when the track gets retired at the end of the day then you’ll be Top Dog of that track forever!
The keys to success in Vecter are focus, quick reflexes and learning the best routes through the tracks. It’s good to learn where the various power-ups are located and there are many different types of hazard to contend with, all of which will kill you instantly if you touch them (if you haven’t picked up a shield power-up).
It’s a mesmerising and very addictive game which you can feel yourself getting slightly better at with each new run. The fact that the track gets changed every 24 hours is a great touch as it means it’s not just the same person at the top of the scoreboard all the time and being able to see your online scoreboard position as you race really spurs you on. A simple and inventive high speed racer with bags of style. Highly recommended.
