World Wide Hack is an innovative hacking simulation MMO that aims to deliver an authentic take on hacking and cybersecurity as you use realistic hacking methods to burrow your way into the servers and databases of a large quantum computing business.
Forget all the nonsense you’ve seen in hacking games and movies, World Wide Hack focuses on real hacking methods that have worked in the real world. Some of this may involve classic command line hacking and exploits, but “social hacking” is also a massive factor – such as figuring out answers to security questions by trawling the bio of the person you’re trying to hack to find out their favorite food.
World Wide Hack plays out via the “secure” virtual desktop for a company called QuanTech and starts with you hacking your way into the account of their head of Human Resources. From there you can read their emails and important documents, see the employee chat group and create and promote new users (hint). Once you have your own account all set up you can really start digging into what’s going on at QuanTech.
It’s a very clever and realistic take on hacking that’s more about investigation, problem solving and exploiting flaws in cybersecurity than typing out lines of indecipherable code. See if you’ve got what it takes to be a real hacker!
