Worshippers of Cthulhu is an eldritch horror colony sim game where you build a city and perform rituals to awaken the almighty Cthulhu.
In Worshippers of Cthulhu you are a cult leader who is seeking to bring about a cosmic rebirth at the hands of Cthuhu and other maddening eldritch entities. After your ship washes up on a strange land with a giant pit that leads to R’Lyeh. You will build cities across multiple islands, gather resources, proclaim dogmas, conquer, pillage, sacrifice and perform dark rituals – all with an aim of awakening Cthulhu.
It’s a very well made city builder with easily accessible gameplay, beautiful visuals and a wonderfully doom-laden atmosphere. It really leans into the eldritch horror element from the ground up, so it’s not just Sim-City with an eldritch coat of paint. Highly recommended.
