The Zelda Ocarina of Time: Unreal Engine 4 Remake is an incredible fan made project that recreates Link’s classic N64 adventure in Unreal Engine 4.
Created by the ever talented CryZENx (whose Zelda and Mario projects we’ve covered previously on Alpha Beta Gamer), Zelda Ocarina of Time Unreal Engine 4 Remake is a near perfect Unreal Engine powered recreation of Ocarina of Time. The current build features around 30 minutes to an hour’s worth of gameplay and includes the entire first dungeon, starting with link searching for a sword and shield in Kokiri Forest and ending with the Queen Gohma boss battle within the Deku Tree.
CryZENx has built lots of Zelda scene recreations in Unreal Engine before (some of which are added bonuses you can access from the main menu) but this build is by far the most fully fledged “game”. It features all the characters, weapons, items, enemies and puzzles of the original and even the full Queen Gohma big boss fight.
There are a few frustrating bugs and the lack of checkpoints or saves means that if you die you’ll go right back to the start of the Deku Tree, but on the whole the Zelda Ocarina of Time: Unreal Engine 4 Remake is a fantastic fan made recreation that does justice to Nintendo’s 20 year old classic. Never before has the Ocarina of Time looked so good. Highly recommended.
